No Man's Sky is full of places that may only ever be seen once. Civitas exists so those journeys can become part of something lasting.
You do not need to be the fastest explorer or the most prolific builder. The Archive values thoughtful contributions, shared knowledge, and the history each member creates over time.

There is no scheduled orientation. Your first mission is available when you are ready, and Civitas members can help if the route becomes difficult.

The Discord is the collective's active communications layer and the starting point for membership, visitors, and allied representatives.

Select Initiate or Diplomat
Choose Initiate of the Archive if you want to become a member. Choose Diplomat if you are visiting as an ally or representative of another community.

Request your Atlas star
Use /initiate_star. Archive-16 will assign a random Atlas system in Muhacksonto, the sixteenth galaxy. The assignment is unique to your initiation record.

Index the system in Voyagers Haven
Travel to the assigned star, complete its system record in the Haven database, and file it under Civitas Archivum XVI. Ask in Discord if you need help reaching Galaxy XVI.

Advance and choose a division
Once the record is verified, staff can advance you to Archivum Adept. You may then choose a division and begin building your own history within Civitas.

Divisions are not assigned during arrival. Complete your first indexed system, advance to Adept, and then choose the work that feels like yours.
Stellar Division
Chart systems, star classes, economies, glyphs, and notable stellar traits.
Planetary Division
Document worlds, biomes, hazards, flora, fauna, and unusual environments.
Anomaly Division
Investigate glitches, fractures, collisions, restricted systems, and simulation irregularities.
Sentinel Division
Protect Travelers, conduct combat operations, and support defensive fieldwork.
Diplomatic Division
Build alliances, represent Civitas, and maintain relationships across the NMS community.
Historical Division
Preserve ruins, portals, fossils, update history, and the legacy of player communities.

Identity cards and dossiers become living records of your time in Civitas. Your first world, an anomaly witnessed, a base constructed, or a friend defended can all become part of the Archive.

01Do I need to be an experienced player?+
No. New and experienced Travelers are welcome. Civitas values curiosity, kindness, and a willingness to preserve what you discover.
02Do I need to already be in Galaxy XVI?+
Your initiation star is located in Muhacksonto, but you do not need to arrive alone. Join the Discord and ask for travel assistance if you cannot yet reach the sixteenth galaxy.
03Can I belong to another community?+
Yes. Civitas works alongside other No Man's Sky communities. Travelers may join as members, while representatives and visitors can use the Diplomat or External Envoy path.
04Is there a scheduled orientation?+
No. The initiation path is self-paced. Begin when you are ready, follow the First Contact Terminal, and ask for help whenever you need it.
